Frequently Asked Questions
The main difference between compression stockings and anti-embolism stockings is the level of compression and who they’re meant for. Compression socks are made for people who are up and about, while anti embolic stockings are for bed-bound patients. Compression socks have a gradient compression that becomes gradually looser up the leg.
Flamingo Anti-embolism socks place pressure on the legs to increase circulation. In doing so, they reduce a person’s risk of blood clots.
Anti-embolism stockings promote circulation, reduce swelling, prevent formation of varicose veins and spider veins, prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) symptoms, provide fastest healing, and promote a safer recovery.
Flamingo Anti-embolism socks make proper blood circulation to the legs a seamless and effective process. They are made of lightweight materials making them comfortable to wear while undergoing the recovery process. They also minimize the risk of venous thromboembolism.
Mostly, anti-embolism is recommended to patients who are bedridden or post-operative patients who are immobile. Also, patients who have phlebitis, lymphedema, edema, varicose veins can wear compression stockings.
